ABOUT
FREDERICK OLIVEIRA-CHEVRES
ELECTROACOUSTIC COMPOSER & MUSICIAN
Frederick Oliveira-Chevres, also known as “Resident // Cryptid”, is a Brazilian-American electroacoustic composer, violinist, and violist. He writes music inspired by a wide range of genres, from classical to electronic to jazz fusion. While his focus is on writing music for video games, he also writes for the stage, on occasion.
Frederick has been composing since he first began teaching himself how to play the piano at age 10 and continued after switching over to violin at 11. And then to viola at 21.
Since then, he has been performing as a solo musician, as well as a part of several ensembles such as the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra and the Khouri/White Collective.
Currently, he is an undergraduate student at Berklee, majoring in composition and game and interactive media scoring with a minor in orchestral conducting. He might be losing his marbles (only some of them, though).
